The song was released on the 400th anniversary of Africans first landing in the United States by way of slave ship, with an uplifting and inspiring message to Black people.

Featuring the sample ZOOM by The Commodores, the song both honors "the flying Africans" who wished to fly away, while inspiring listeners to take flight in their own journey.
